Does immich have a good way to hide or lock certain photos? I’d love to share most of my photo library with my friends but there are some photos I want backed up that I’d rather not share

dear Lord lmfao
i found their site and in confused by this part of their intro page:
“That was how the idea started to grow in my head. After that, I began to find existing solutions in the self-hosting space with similar backup functionality and the performance level of the App-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named. I found that the current solutions mainly focus on the gallery-type application. However, I want a simple-to-use backup tool with a native mobile app that can view photos and videos efficiently.”
what is the main thing that separates immich from other “gallery-type applications”? wouldnt all comparable apps have some kind of gallery?
I’d be infinite stamina man. never get out of breath again, even while jogging

being un-googleable is seriously underrated. if I ever had kids I’d give them the most common names possible for exactly that reason. Sure it can be annoying when you’re the 8th John in your class but that’s a lot easier to get used to than the amount of bullying and harassment you could get for having a really uncommon name, especially if it’s a silly name or shared name with garbage famous person
they can do worse things to mom
edit: please stop trying to guess the worse things, I don’t want to read this
yeah I think you’re right, with that kind of extra detail I wouldn’t have been confused. even the article itself didn’t make it clear what the context could have been, it sounded like they were casually driving and the officer just blindfired into his car for no other reason than “criminal bad” y’know? the fact that the man was about to ram through a roadblock or that the family gave up their protest after seeing the footage should have been front and center
yeah I think I went on a bit too much in my original comment, just genuinely wanted to know more details, I wasn’t trying make some big statement. thanks for this info I didn’t know that about British police
im just trying to understand how this could happen
I’m curious how this could even happen in England, I thought their police force was totally different from the US? I thought they only used guns as a last resort instead of as a constant threat of their gangster-style authority? was this some sort of very strange circumstance? was the cop who did it some kind of deranged murderer who somehow infiltrated the police force? or are cops around the world just not as different as I thought?
edit: this wasn’t meant to make a statement about English and American cops being similar, I’m just an idiot. was only trying to ask for more context (which I have now gotten).
I just don’t like monopolies, and right now everything else is chrome
lmfao savage
I think it’s kinda sweet for a kid. I mean what’s cooler than a robot when you’re 7? that’s pretty much the pinnicle of “cool” at that age, or at least it was for me. So to compare a crush to a robot for a kid is similar to shakespear comparing thier lover to “a summer’s day” or Selena Gomez comparing thier lover to “a love song”
is mailcow the kind of thing where you can host your email server yourself without paying any reoccurring fees beyond your domain name? Im new to homelabs too and I’ve been wondering how to get started with that for a while. proton would be great for me if it was free but I’m really against reoccurring payments, I don’t even have Netflix lol
I’ve never worked on an open source project before but what you’re describing are all my favorite parts of working on my personal projects so far. lol maybe if I get an actually useful project idea I’ll finally become an open source dev
I like the stickers on the 3rd kid’s tough book, that’s a nice touch
man what was going through their heads at that moment? “an unarmed woman has fled to her house and told us not to enter, let’s just fuckin kill her”??? I don’t think anything could ever justify this to be clear but what was even the thought process??? did she walk too close to her own damn window or something??
it’s not hard to stalk someone enough to find their address and then beat the shit out of them. it doesn’t take intelligence it just takes obsession. police (as well as anyone else) should take this seriously
Good bot
