I think you’re right about the SEQUEL to SQL backformation but why would Microsoft enter into it at all?
The naming and origin of SQL happened back in the 70s, long before Microsoft did its work on porting Sybase to OS/2 in the late 80s.

I guess I’m in the minority here calling it “et cetera”
Yeah but it’s written like operating systems are thought of as something “written by/for” a government. That’s pretty rare, whereas other pieces of software are far more common.
It’s also completely backwards: “the government will use only open source software” is the opposite direction from “software the government makes will be open sourced”
I think it would mostly apply to software other than operating systems, really.
Weird custom one-off databases that only a government would need, mostly.
The “third party rights” is a loophole you could drive a truck through, if you wanted to circumvent this law.
You realize that software exists other than operating systems right?
right there […] where it always was.
they just moved it to the conclusion
Make up your mind, which one is it?
Because like it or not, it’s not the doctors job to do whatever you want no questions asked. It’s to evaluate need, desire, and risks and advise and act accordingly.
The doctor who would perform an unnecessary procedure without doing that is just as bad as the one who refuses. Maybe worse.
No. I just don’t kid myself, I know I’ll never read it.
What’s with the scare quotes around “support”?
They’re not wrong. The world now knows what Israel is, and some Americans like what they see.
Saving you a click:
Open the Settings app, scroll to Face ID & Passcode, then to Stolen Device Protection, and turn the switch on.
Pretty sure that’s not the case, unless you rewrite the entire disk every time you plug it in. Nothing is refreshing those magnetic domains.
Scrape ‘em off, Jim!
I don’t really see how that undermines anything, I just explained the abbreviation and mentioned how I mostly see it used. The only group I see screeching about how the “mainstream media” is biased against them is the far right.
Most people agree on which news orgs are “mainstream media”: https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2021/05/07/broad-agreement-in-u-s-even-among-partisans-on-which-news-outlets-are-part-of-the-mainstream-media/
And an article on the topic of alleged bias: https://www.npr.org/2022/08/07/1115949410/republicans-have-long-feuded-with-the-mainstream-media-now-many-are-shutting-the
Main-Stream Media. Usually used by the far right to refer to centrist publications/broadcasters.
Edit: not intending to say that the GP is far-right, and I completely agree that it makes no sense for anyone to support Israel here.
Audio is also impossible to edit/correct. You’d have to re-record the whole thing (or embed an audio editing suite in the IDE). And also make sure only one person recorded the comments (for a consistent voice).
AI generated text to speech would be far better than this.
Pretty sure there are no significant instances that allow child porn.
Hey fuck you! That’s total bullshit and you know it!!
