Maybe just a feature phone and tether it to a laptop?

Zip tie them into a 2x1 rectangular box with a flip top lid. A drill may be needed.
Thanks for that info re Black vs White.
Yeah that’s right.
I have a ten year old i7 with 16gb so I don’t notice it much, but anything less would feel the pain. And yeah it can be slow in some apps (grid connect) yet flies along with Zen pinball.
Probably not what you want, but BlueStacks might suit. For poddies alone it might not be worth it, but if you have other uses as well it might be worth it. (For example, eBay’s $5 discount for ordering with the app.)
Facebook Messenger.
I suspect a lack of critical thinking. Respond first, ask questions later or not at all.
Blu tak over the speaker hole mutes them nicely too.
If it implicated a driver or file, at least you had a clue to the cause and could search for it online.
Could be.
I think what I didn’t like was they often simply froze. There was no error message, so you had to just try different things to see if you could get it stable.
I suspect they just didn’t like being on a network. Often, killing off the startup extensions (or whatever they were called) would improve their stability. It was 28 years ago…
I had to support the damn things for a university. Crash prone bastards they were. The windows 3.11 and 95 boxes in the same environment were so much more stable than the pre osx macs of the time.
The earlier ones - classics and the like were pretty stable.
Thank you.
I had a wife die from lung cancer over a ~nine month period. Cared for her etc as best I could. When they die, some part of you goes with them. I’m still alive, but not entirely. That was ten plus years ago now and I’ve remarried etc since, but I’ve taken some damage.
This Week in Tech. (since 2005ish)
Where should we begin?
The Moth.
What’s that rash?
I’m happy with most of their stuff and use it a lot (calendar, drive, keep etc) but I know not to trust them not to kill things. I keep an IMAP copy of my emails and a local copy of my photos just in case…
I got one of those Epson ink tank printers for $250au. I think it’s the first time inkjet printers have become legit affordable and high capacity.
Laser still wins on reliability though, and being an Epson means it’s a Tamagochi so needs to be used monthly at least so it doesn’t die.

Because heart breaks come in and bend us the wrong way…
Doesn’t matter what’s trippin’ you out, there’s ways to go.
This is where we get carried away and off to start again.
Well, Outlook Express was pretty good at the time.
