Hear me out. I don’t love him, but mayor Pete.
Watch out, you might upset the emacs crowd.
I back a running trainer on Kickstarter called Vi. When I got it is was insanely uncomfortable, drained my phone battery on an hour via the companion app and did not work for runs longer than 10 minutes. It was absolutely dog shit.
Gamer glasses
Even more so. That 27% likely won’t even hear about this since Fox News and other right wing outlets won’t cover it.
Mono color t shirt and pants or shorts depending on the weather. WFT now, but also the same in the office.
It really whips the llamas ass.

Until you listen harder.
If you are wondering where you are on the curve, you likely aren’t too bad. Simply recognizing that you may not know everything is a bit step along the curve
Socialist countries are not, the entire Scandinavian block are super socialist, and not authoritarian.
As for Communist countries, no one has actually implemented communism, only in name. Communism means the workers, not the state, control the means of production. The state controlling them allows for bad actors to seize control.
This isn’t as much of a left / right issue as other things. Coverage of cable news across the entire political spectrum is running cover for the genocide.
The printing press. It allowed us for the first time to share knowledge at a scale we only dreamed of.
The chamber of commerce can get fucked.
A service that provides sheet music. I am learning the piano and I find it difficult to find accurate and reasonable sheet music for much I want to play. Some of it is obscurity, but even when it’s findable, the service is monetized to make it unpleasant
I think Facebook is interesting as it’s such a wide range of apps. From groups, to marketplace to traditional social, it has a lot of potential to be spread across multiple FOSS alternatives
Only contribution on Lemmy. Get the fuck out of here.
The long term solution to this is high quality public housing allowing people to move when needed. It’s a bit of a pipe dream in our current world, but if we are talking edge cases, I can be idealistic.
Ownership isn’t for everyone, that’s okay, but profiting from a basic need for another human, shelter, is immortal. We should be a society that provides basic needs to people without allowing others to exploit them for profit.
I am not saying everyone must own, and you can’t rent, but it’s the profiteering I have a problem with, not the need for someone to live or move.
Agreed. I found that many developers, in the pursuit of clean code, lost slight of some of the fundamentals principles of good code. I found that people were eschewing readability and modularity and calling it clean code.
Clean code became the target, not the underlying principles and the reason why we needed clean code in the first place. It became an entirely new thing that aided in producing some of the worst code I’ve read.
Oftentimes, when devs talk about “clean code” it’s a red flag for me in hiring. Some of the worst devs I’ve worked with have been clean code evangelists.
