Hey, man. If you got something positive out of his mumbo jumbo, great. But his stuff is kinda like horoscopes in that way. You can…kinda take whatever you want from it. Because it’s mostly overly verbose, purposefully complicated nonsense. And the mindset you’re in when exposed to it can change its effect. So, when shared among right wing incels and “alpha male” circles, it very much has the effect of fostering hatred toward women and trans people.
He spouts pseudo science and fills it with buzzwords on hot button issues. He cloaks his nonsense in the favorite topics of those who do harbor hatred towards women, transgender people, etc. He gets to remain an arm’s length away from the far right while catering to them by pretending to be a “neutral” “academic.” But those people are his bread and butter. While you may or may not be a part of that, like I said, he caters to them and uses vague enough bullshit to let those kinds of people justify their hatred. You can’t deny that he’s positioned himself as “going against the status quo”—hell, you basically said so yourself. And hat is the exact type of persona that attracts the ironically “anti establishment” right wingers. A truly stupid hypocritical group of people. They claim anti establishment, while actually harboring authoritarian beliefs.
My point is, his schtick is to appear “neutral” while spouting exactly the kind of shit bigots need so they can feel justified in their hatred. You may have not fallen prey to that, but plenty of his fans do. And anyone who opens up to that stream of pseudoscientific “information” from him is flirting with the far right pipeline.
I don’t know. Because there is definitely an overlap in the venn diagram of Jordan Peterson fans and people who are inordinately angry at women, trans people, “liberals,” etc. If “going against the crowd” is a driving force behind you finding your philosophy, I don’t think you’re in it for the right reasons. And that kind of toxic mentality does not lead to happiness.

At the end of your bottle, if you’re taking them as prescribed, which is usually every 4-6hrs? Do that for a week and your body would be addicted. A full bottle + a refill, even two? It’s not about taking them recreationally. Your body and brain get addicted when they’re in your system regularly. I would know, got hit by a car, I think I only had one refill, and I was going through withdrawals at the end. I wasn’t even taking them as often as prescribed, mostly “as needed.” That was still regular enough.

I lived in Spain for a while. I was in some random city in Andalucía, walking with some random person I met in the hostel. We’re walking to the beach, and we pass a group of students coming the other way. Kinda passively scanning the faces, I see this kid I went to high school with. We weren’t friends, but it was a small school, 100 kids or so to a class. We both just kinda laugh, shake our heads, point at each other, share a dap as we pass and both just kept walking. Neither of us said anything except maybe “what the fuck”

Another time, I got in a hit and run accident. When the guy hit me from behind, I looked in the rear view and saw his weird headlights. We go to pull off the road and he booked it. I couldn’t catch him. Like six months down the road, on my way home from school, I look in my rear view and see those headlights on the same color truck. He’s driving like a dickhead through traffic, but I start obviously following him, he’s kinda trying to shake me. He pulls over into a parking lot, I come in behind him. He and his douchey friend get out, all douchey-like. Comes to my window, trying to intimidate me, his friend to the passenger window to intimidate my friend. Starts yelling, and I’m just like, “yeah, like six months ago you rear ended me and I got a description of your truck for the police report, but didn’t get the license plate number.” He was immediately shaken and started stumbling on his words, trying to say he just bought this car, blah blah. I’m like, “oh. They kept those Ron Jon stickers on the window when they sold it?” lol at that point they were already retreating. I yell, “you can expect a visit from the cops pretty soon!” And they got out of there. I didn’t really make a police report, but I hope I made the next few months of his life really anxious.
Another time a guy who tried to stab me like three nights before when I was living in Colombia came up and started talking to a group of me and my friends on the street.

Henry? More than messi? I mean, Henry was a top tier player. But Messi is a once-in-multiple generations type talent. Henry is like Zlatan, Beckham, Ronaldo, ronaldinho. Messi, in his prime, was just mind-blowingly exceptional.
I mean, it’s a matter of opinion in some respects, but look just how many records messi broke. Football has continued to get more and more perfect, the tactics and styles of play and strength more and more advanced. And even in the most advanced era of football, messi managed to stand head and shoulders above the rest. And he’s short as fuck. I mean, I don’t personally like Ronaldo, but he’s the only one who came close. I discount him in the greatest of greats category because he had set skills hat he mastered due to being tall, fast and strong. His skills weren’t all that special. Kind of like Haaland and zlatan and lewandowski. It is certainly a valuable thing to be tall and strong, but where they all shine is heir ability to be in the right place at the right time. And to be able to jump higher, run faster, reach a little further with that innate ability to be in the right place. Messi created the right place, for himself and for his teammates. That’s what makes him a multi-generational talent.

Not necessarily true. I’m a cis male and I’ve always had a slender waist. If I really dedicated my workout to legs and glutes and just abominable with none of the side stomach muscles (I’m pretty new to working out and don’t know the words) and I completely disregarded my upper body, my body would start to look more feminine. My body stores fat on my hips too, so no cardio? Yeah, I’d be one sexy lady bod.
I mean, it’s great that people are getting more involved and aware. But I think the combination of the explosion of political awareness with the current state of discourse thanks to social media/the devolution of the right into petty, bald-faced, reactionary rage (some of you may not have been around for this, but the right used to have a mask over their petty reactionary rage) has made for a noxious cocktail of nothing of value ever being discussed.
Now, was it more frustrating when they were less open about their intentions? Sure. Because it felt like shouting at a wall. And it was more “boring” to be politically aware. But under those wraps we had the patriot act, PNAC, intelligent neocons playing politics way more competently, and a serious problem with somehow even less conscientious democrats.
But now we have companies operating blanket eavesdropping via apps/home aid/LLMs (and the patriot act is still hanging around), project REDMAP/Project 2025, less than intelligent far right lunatics not understanding how to play politics, and democrats playing conscientious for appearances while still being, at best, useless neoliberals and at worst, reactionaries themselves.
Things have changed, and not for the better. Add on top of that discourse deteriorating into nonsense while everyone throws their hat in the mix with their uninformed opinions…it’s a depressing landscape. So, I don’t know if people can grow out of that obnoxious, I’ll-informed political stage because that’s just politics now.

Some of us have held our political opinions since before 2016. We’re much more bearable, even those of us on the far left. I firmly believe people need to go through an obnoxious political phase. It’s just way more normal to go through it in high school/college. But will it be just a phase when people are going through it in their adulthood? I dunno. But I guess we’ll have to find out the hard way.
Housing shouldn’t be gatekept. Rent as we know it is broken. Someone owns a property, while you pay the mortgage. But you’re not paying down to own, you’re paying it down for someone else to own. Sure, renting is fine for people who move a lot, but that money shouldn’t be flushed down the drain every month—from the position of the renter. Rental credits, to where that money you’re putting down acts as a credit toward getting the opportunity to own. This would take a massive restructuring of the way we behave as a society, but it’s desperately needed.

Def watch the first season of Westeorld if you haven’t. The rest I can’t speak on, the first couple eps of s02 made zero sense and I totally lost interest. The first season can stand alone as a self-contained piece, though.
