Yeah, I posted this because the headline got me confused.

I knew 5 out of 6 of their neighbours, but I didn’t know about Burkina Faso, not even under their old name. I’m afraid to find out how many more African countries I’m missing.

They are misleading and intentionally so. Either ‘just’ as rage bait or as a genuine attempt at spreading misinformation.

There is a 4 billion budget for aid next year - which is of course excluding EU aid and aid financed via dividends of frozen russian assets.

That’s because the topic is so politically and emotionally charged, even the nicest way of addressing it will be met with enough tamper tantrums to make advertisers and other stakeholders at least uncomfortable.

EU demands are the easy part. It’s rather obvious what they would be. Something along the lines of: ‘The UK can rejoin at any time, but without all the special treatment it has been receiving.’

Try to convince the people that’s good. Will another referendum still be in favour of rejoining, if you have to accept the Euro, new immigration laws, maybe the metric system and other standards?

I have some doubts there.

I wonder what’s the strategy here. If I had to guess I’d say he wants to see them fail miserably, so they lose support as quickly as they got it. I’m not sure that’s a good idea tho.

Holy shit, that is a sweet deal. What I think is more interesting however, is that it’s also kinda revealing that they think law works like this in the West - and also what level of control they think is acceptable for a state to have.

The middle thing is not what normies do, it is what enterprises do, because they have other needs than just knowing ‘error where?’

I’ll hold weapon shipments because I think Israel is bombarding civilians, but I will not stand for people accusing them of war crimes.

Is it just me or would it be way, waaay easier to just throw them under the bus completely? Biden could end the protests, avoid this absolutely ridiculous balancing act, and, if an all out war breaks out after Israel loses his political support, the US could still sell them weapons.

I’m not saying this is the best course of action, but what he does seems kinda irrational. Feels like it’s nothing but hurting his chances in the election.

Probably not. It’s one of if not the most sophisticated air-defense on the planet. Without overwhelming it, attacks have little chance of any significant successes.

Just look at Ukraine, most attacks never reach their target and they are probably not equipped as well as Israel is (and also spread out much further). Even Russia’s “hypersonic” missiles are shot down by plain ol’ patriot systems on the regular.

So unless Iran pulls out some really fancy tricks, they will probably just hit low-value targets or maybe manage to overwhelm the defense in some limited areas (at the cost of a lot of drones). If this was to drag on however, it’ll start to hurt eventually…

Well, if I was Ukraine, I would bomb the shit out of them now, unless maybe I get more military aid. They win either way.

I’m usually completely chill when I’m on the clock. When I write code for myself, that’s when I feel personally attacked by my mistakes.

Uhm, no, you might be surprised, but I’m not worried about voters who’s vote is set in stone.

Except a majority in the US disapproves of Israels recent actions and they are risking their victory - which is likely gonna be a close one - for next to nothing. Even if they really don’t give a fuck, they could have just postponed the decision.
