The counterfeiters buy legit products and return their cheapo fakes through fake buyer accounts. So for the price of manufactoring the counterfeit products they’ve purchased the real thing.
They then sell the authentic products through other channels and appear to be supplying authentic, quality products affordably to buyers and marketplaces while at the same time poisoning the legitimate market.
It’s essentially counterfeit laundering.
They’ll also buy the real product, return the counterfeit product, then sell the real one.
When I need something for work I have a company account.
I absolutely have some Type C cables that only work one way because there’s no enforced standards and the manufacturer will wire them however is cheap, throw on another company’s logo, and sell it to Amazom.
I ordered my first Chromecast the day they were announced (Amazon exclusive at first BTW).
It was a different time with Amazon. They got confused in the rush or orders, and sent me like 7 emails in 20 minutes all contradicting each other about my order. I was mostly curious when it would arrive, so I called to see if they had any idea, since them emails ranged between 2 weeks and 4 months.
They apologized for the confusion, overnighted one to me, and refunded my money.
Amazon’s customer service 11 years ago was excellent to the point of irresponsible.
I’ve been using aCar for over a decade. It’s owned by Fuelly now, but all the cloud stuff is optional.
I keep track of my mileage, fuel, maintenance, etc. I can take pictures of receipts, make notes, etc. It’s pretty easy, and I can save local backups of the data or have it sync to Dropbox or onedrive.
Worse than that. You bought software licenses specific to that Wii, not to an online account. If it died, you lost all your purchases.
So - ignoring the time he sent a mob to try and overthrow the US government, how about we use the fact that he literally said he’d be a dictator?
Or maybe the fact that his legal defense against trying to overthrow the government was that the President is immune from all crimes. His lawyers even literally said he could have his political opponents murdered, and so long as the surviving politicians don’t impeach and convict him he can’t be held liable for it.
They’re arguing a legal framework under which he can murder the opposition, and then kill anyone that tries to remove him from office.
For me it’s been “I see you bought this specific laser engraver. Would you be interested in buying that exact model?”
No. I already bought it, and it’s not a consumable. If I decided I needed a new laser a week into ownership, it wouldn’t be because I was thrilled with that exact model.

I work for a municipal government where we all receive a phone stipend because of 2FA.
If we use our personal phones for city business, they become searchable in Open Records Requests.

I work almost 100% on a computer for a municipality using software that’s already 100% web-based.
But I have to drive 90+ minutes each way every day because a citizen might want to have an in-person meeting once every few weeks instead of an email or Teams meeting.
I still use bat h files and the system scheduler to automate a shocking amount of my job.
Mine is similar, but I have an ultra wide on top, a standard on the bottom-left, and my laptop on the bottom-right at my home work station.
I currently run 3 and am actively trying to figure out how to get more in my space.
I want my workstation to look like Neil Peart set it up.
Most of the new ones have zero sugar. The sugary ones cause people to crash after using them, so the newer ones all have sucralose for sweetener.
