I am completely biased since I created the megathread, but I will give my opinion. I fully understand this needs agreement between mods and admins, tho.

This project will receive updates and improvements in the future, and the apps suggested are based on Lemmy members opinions, which is why I guess this is nice to get a pin. Since it is based on their opinions, people can see the apps most used by the members and their favorite apps. And future members can see the apps that members use and prefer.

This megathread is open because, during one / two months, I opened threads to discuss with the community which FOSS apps they really like and use, where members share ideas , downvoted and upvoted comments to gain strength within the community. Newpipe has the F-Droid repo added. You cannot see? Bitwarden doesn’t have a repo on F-Droid. At least, I didn’t find it.

As I said, except for app suggestions, this megathread is open for any other suggestions, critics, improves or other types of information.

Thank you for the suggestion. All are welcome. I understand your point of view, and I think this should be debated, for sure.

However, imo, don’t know if it will make sense to open something separately, since this was done by the lemmy members. I think it would defeat the purpose of the megathread by getting suggestions outside of lemmy.

I have no problem taking full responsibility for this. Obviously all help is welcome, but I take this on with all rigor and pleasure.

Other things I also want to discuss in the next thread are in relation to apps that not received updates again on last years. I understad there are apps that work without any problems, but I would like to know how much time need to past to become plausible to add an app to the megatrhead.

Regarding the fact that there may be apps that may seem like rubbish to you, I also understand your point of view, but I think that will depend on each person. I’ve just finished the megathread now, and, firstly, I added the apps that are used daily, and only then I add the rest , dividing into topics. Next week I will show the final work so everyone can give their opinion and say what you don’t like
