False narrative.

We have less than a dozen morons here. They don’t represent anyone but themselves.

Meanwhile we have entire factions of the Republican party at war with themselves from the Lincoln Project to the infighting in the House just this week.

The left has always had its share of morons.

Well-meaning morons, but morons nonetheless.

The issue is that the centrist and right wing media latch on to the narrative of these fringe weirdos and pretend that they represent the entirety of the left wing, even though there are WAY MORE lefties who find them disdainful.

So, in other words the FBI must have had tons of specific information that this insurrection was going to happen … Yet we had very little law enforcement there or on standby.

This is the part of Jan 6 that has not received nearly enough attention. Either law enforcement was grossly incompetent, or they were deliberately held back to allow the insurrection to succeed. In other words: a coup.

That there wasn’t a single mainstream Republican who stood up to Trump during his presidency.

I mean, come on. Who wrote this?

We’re supposed to believe that EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN in government went from taking about how unfit Trump was when he was a candidate … to standing behind him 100% even when he cozied up to Russia, paid hush money to a porn star, and lied about a Presidential election?

I mean, I’d be very bored with that content, so I’d see it more as getting paid 10k to stop consuming media for a year.

It would be a good excuse to do more writing, and getting out and socializing.

401k plans are a scam not because of what they are, but what they replaced.

Companies used to offer pensions. These were retirement benefits that were handled by the company, and the company bore the risk of underperforming markets.

For a number of reasons, pensions were much better for workers. Now, only some unionized workers get them.

Senators are (with few exceptions) extraordinarily wealthy. When climate change is destroying crops and making some areas uninhabitable, these senators’ families will still be living very comfortably.

As if someone like Trump would even give a second thought to sending his kids off to war?

How about a new rule that if you vote for a war, you are automatically enlisted. And if you’re ineligible to enlist you must either abstain or vote no.

Garland didn’t even go after Trump for the Obstruction charges from the Mueller report.

Garland is acting like a Trump stooge.

Yes and no.

Firstly, Trump already had his guy investigating Hunter, and when the Biden admin came in, they allowed that investigation to continue, with the unprecedented step that Trump’s c guy didn’t even have to answer Biden’s DoJ.

From that investigation they found … nothing. No Biden crime family. Nothing. Some minor tax issues and also Biden lied on a gun application by saying he wasn’t a drug addict. It’s bad, sure but absolutely nothing to do with the allegations that started the investigation.

So essentially we have a private citizen that’s been investigated to an obscene degree. But Republicans can’t let it go, because if there’s one thing that defines them it’s that they fiercely believe things that have no evidentiary basis, and no amount of logic or reason can change their minds.

So, I don’t know what this nonsense is, with Garland appeasing the right wing even further on this. It’s harassment of Hunter at this point, not any actual pursuit of the truth.

Meanwhile Trump’s own family nakedly traded favors for cash when Trump GAVE THEM JOBS IN HIS ADMINISTRATION, and Garland isn’t even investigating those deals…I mean, the Saudi’s gave Trump’s son-in-law $2 BILLION.

Garland is once again opting for the appearance of impartiality, instead of actually faithfully executing his duties impartiality.

The Trump crime family is a real thing that we’ve all seen hard evidence of. The Biden crime family is a fiction. He’s acting as if it’s the other way around. Shame on him.

Pan-seared sea scallops.

The key here is to get good scallops which were flash frozen, NOT stored in liquid.

All you need is a good skillet, a hot flame, and several tablespoons of good quality butter.

Watch a bunch of videos for various techniques. My preferred method is just basting them in butter.

Don’t crowd the pan. Don’t burn the butter. Don’t overcook the scallops.

Master this dish and you will always have a last-minute gourmet option.

Serve with a mixed-green salad, grits, white wine.

Perfect for date night because it is classy, satisfying, decadent, but also light, and won’t stain your clothes if it you happen to have a slip.

Note: the quality of this dish 100% depends on the quality of the scallops.

Sometimes, even when you pay top dollar, you can get a batch that are really bland.

Good news is that generally you can get great frozen ones from Costco, and keep them in your freezer, ready to go.

If you have time, and a lot is riding on the meal, do a test scallop in advance to make sure it’s delicious. If it isn’t find a new plan.

Desperation or buckets of money.

I’m employed now, and actually pretty happy with my job. It would take a lot of money to get me to work in an office again.

But realistically, a couple months of unemployment would be more than enough to make me jump at any office job that would allow me to live comfortably.
