Removing it has to be cheaper than installing it. Bleed Abbott if he wants to play this game.

Linus is surrounded by people who can call him on his bullshit. Luke is very aware of the shit Linus steps in and lets him know. Linus just kinda sucks at publicly admitting it, at least not without getting his own jab in. Hence taking over the “Trust Me Bro” joke.
Linus takes all criticism on LMG as a personal attack regardless of his involvement. Hopefully, once Tarren steps in, he’ll be able to wrangle Linus and just let LMG handle the public relations side.
It’s because Linus still has startup brain. He was squeezing blood from the stone for the first few years and his success then makes him believe that he needs to maintain that same mentality now.
Fortunately, he’s also realized that he doesn’t like running a large company and he’s hired a CEO. Unfortunately, said CEO is still stuck in his previous role and won’t actually be starting full-time for another few months. So now the company gets to sit in an awkward limbo of Linus checking out but Tarren not being ready to take over.
Once he is able to be a real CEO of LMG, I’m willing to bet things will start to dramatically change. Tarren has been running businesses as businesses for a while now and thus should know how to shape the company. He’ll be able to adjust the goals and fix the spends to align with those goals. Since the company is privately owned, as long as Linus doesn’t step on the process, it should go pretty well.
Dude. Yes they have some small diuretic effects but tea and coffee are overwhelmingly hydrating. It’s just not a good idea to mainline that much caffeine for heart reasons.
Ugh safety. Why can’t people just die for the entertainment of the wealthy?
Must have been the space wind
Probably not. HR would have just pre filtered him anyway.
Looks interesting but the trailer doesn’t really portrait the same spark as black and white. What made BW so interesting was really how charming it was combined with an interaction method that made you feel godly. This has the idea of being a god, but will you interact using godly powers? Or do you just change settings via menus no different than any other Civ like game.
That’s not going to work for web hosting. The only reason it works for crypto or folding is because each request takes minutes to run and there’s no time dependence on returning the result. Additionally, they don’t need much data and all data needed is dispersed with the task.
Websites are completely different. Each individual request is tiny, taking milliseconds to process. Each request is very time dependant, you have a person literally waiting for the result. But the biggest issue is that what people really want is stuff from a database. So that database would need up grant full access to everyone, meaning anyone could change whatever they wanted. Lastly, that database would need to be hosted anyway so you’ve gained nothing.
Don’t suggest tech solutions when you don’t have any idea what the problem or solution actually involves.
We just need Wikipedia style funding. If the server publishes their costs and fundraises, then people can support it directly. Instead of the stick and carrot of subscriptions or the rat race of ads, just be open and honest about server needs. If the users aren’t able to raise funds, then cut back to what’s affordable. Users will either deal with the reduced server capacity or they’ll need to pay up to continue enjoying it. This doesn’t need to be a free ride, but I trust the community will rally for a good service.
No, extend is a major part of it. That’s how they topple community projects. They extend in good faith at first to get everyone locked in, then they extend in nefarious ways to keep the community stuck playing catch-up. Once they’ve absorbed all the users from the community projects, they kill off back access leaving the community project crippled in users and lost in direction.
Trust me. Facebook will definitely add great things at first but their goal is to draw users out of the fediverse and into Facebook.
No, a large portion of pirates are just “gimme free shit” types. They don’t care about preservation nor fighting various causes. They don’t care about the people who make the free shit nor seed the free shit. They care about nothing but themselves. So I’m actually not surprised to see that sort of me me me sentiment there. The people who did care are probably gone, all that’s left are the leeches.
If Reddit does manage to survive, it’s going to be hilarious scrolling through the old histories. Sort of like how you can fingerprint covid times on Youtube.
The real power would be in the union anyway. If they could gather the majority of mods and they actually went through with a strike, it would be a huge test for Reddit. They would have to bring in a ton of scabs or cave to the mods. Scabs may work in the king run, but it would also destroy every community they did it to.
So the real question is whether these mods will actually act as a union or will it’s members buckle in fear of being replaced.
I prefer a premade NAS. They are simple enough that I can train the family on how to use them. They’re small and efficient as well, so I can stuff them in a cabinet without much worry about cooling.
An AI writer is always going to be trash. AI can’t experience anything, only remix preexisting content. So it’ll always be a regurgitation of what others have posted. But if we keep cutting out humans, then it’ll eventually be nothing content on repeat.
Diablo games are easy to play while listening/watching other things. Diablo 4 does have a story, but you don’t need to watch it if you don’t want to. And after it’s beaten, the story will never bother you again. Diablo 2 Remaster is also great if you’re feeling a bit more old school.
Not every mod wants to start over. Additionally, the tooling is not as evolved for moderating as it was on Reddit with add ons. So we’ll just have to rely on the communities naturally forming here
It should be revised to “the Internet can be forever”. There’s no control over what persists and what doesn’t, but some things really do get copied everywhere and live on in infamy.
They will probably need it for illumination when the ground war starts but they definitely don’t need it during air raids.
