Damn, I thought I was being stealthy by farting silently like an assassin…
Ironically this is probably the result of someone using ChatGPT to write their job listing
I’m 5’4" and the term just makes me cringe. I don’t normally think about my height unless someone else brings it up or I need to reach the top shelf, but I don’t need encouragement in that case… just a ladder.
I petition to rename ChatGPT to DeepThought based on these results.
That’s the oldest joke in the book. Everybody knows you don’t need to unplug your computer, you can run “sudo reboot” from within vim just fine!

As a Google Workspace user, I recommend going off the grid somewhere streetview can’t find you…
Yeah, the real danger is probably that it will be harder for junior developers to be considered worth the investment.
No reason? Don’t squander perfectly good bleach. You know there are kids seeing in Africa?
I just have no interest in reddit anymore, I always hated the UI and now that there aren’t any third party apps I don’t want to use it. If I see a technical answer in a search sure I’ll use it, but it’s whatever. If reddit wanted to charge on a per user basis to use the API I would have understood because companies need to make money and I wasn’t seeing ads, but they chose the stupidest approach to becoming more profitable.
Yeah, but we already have laws against specific drugs so this wouldn’t be any worse than what we already have, instead it’s an approach to make it safer without just saying it’s okay. But yeah the decision of if it should be a controlled substance should be left up to a board of medical professionals rather than politicians as it is now.
Doing drugs should be decriminalized, but not legal. Ideally when someone is found addicted to drugs they would be provided help rather than punishment. Selling drugs should remain criminal but consequences should be determined based on the amount found selling and to who (like a child or someone who’s pregnant would be a higher penalty at the discretion of the court), legalizing would just give a tax incentive for pushing drugs similar to gambling.
Edit: I want to clarify, I’m talking about addictive drugs with known negative health effects like meth. Weed can be legal, who cares.
I added the word “reported” because I don’t trust VPN providers to not keep logs, but ideally they should report that they don’t keep logs and have an established history of not providing logs. Tor is really not ideal if you’re trying to download anything large and you’re still vulnerable depending on who controls the exit nodes.
I was trying to give general advice, since it didn’t sound like they had a trusted private tracker already it’s a good idea to have a VPN to mask your IP. I agree, it probably won’t help against malware.
Simple, trust no one. Get a no-reported-logs VPN, don’t download anything that has a strange file size or extension, look at comments, look at the number of seeders if it’s a torrent. If you can, join something like a private tracker where there’s moderation too. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it’s probably not the movie you were looking for and there might be a Trojan army inside waiting for you to let the duck enter your computer… That metaphor may have fallen apart on me…
It’s not a substitution for socializing, it’s just an extra thing on the side for me where I can get dumb jokes out of my system. Anything is unhealthy if there’s too much of it, and if you’re finding you’re having trouble moderating usage then I agree you probably shouldn’t be on here. But I wouldn’t call it useless if you get something out of it, it just shouldn’t consume your life.
I would normally put an if-statement before that to verify if IGNORANCE still equals BLISS
Yeah, but you’re gonna be competing with all the fastest seeders with popular torrents on private trackers from my experience so you probably won’t get much of any upload credit until the hype dies down. If you need the credit and have the file already somehow I would even suggest bringing a torrent back from the dead that has a leecher or two trying to download.
Exactly, who would put a rebugged version into production anyway?
